The story

Lewis Hamilton, born in Stevenage in 1985, is one of the most successful drivers in the history of the sport. Backed by McLaren from his teens, he won the GP2 title in 2006 and stepped straight into Formula 1 with McLaren in 2007, missing the title by a single point as a rookie before claiming his first World Championship in 2008.

His move to Mercedes for 2014 began an era of dominance: six further drivers’ titles between 2014 and 2020 and a record haul of race wins and pole positions. After more than a decade with Mercedes, he made a seismic switch to Ferrari for 2025, fulfilling a lifelong ambition to race in red.

Now in his second season with the Scuderia, Hamilton brings unmatched experience to Ferrari’s 2026 campaign, partnering Charles Leclerc as the team chases the championship under the new rules.
